There's enough to go around...

So, I think this is how you prevent "Honey, where's the toilet paper, I can't find it!" Um, it's right in front of your face, in that massive holder.

I couldn't resist, when I saw this shot from the home of Chara Schreyer designed by Gary Hutton and featured in this month's issue of Western Interiors. This steel vessel was created to hold several rows of toilets as if it where another art piece for Schreyer, this art collector and SF MOMA board of trustees member, as well it acts as a modern privacy screen.

So, what do you think? Sculpture? Storage? Privacy Screen? Unpractical?

This is great. I am not sure if it would actually function well as a dispenser (use one roll and your display is left askew), but it would work in an emergency I guess. Very clever.

It looks good but I hope it doesn't steam up in there..that could be quite a mess.

If I saw this in a public loo I'd feel very reassured!
Visually, this is interesting, but in a home I have one thought: Dusty! I keep my loo roll in a basket under the sink, and am perpetually wiping down the surface from the lint and dust motes that get thrown up by the plusher brands of paper.
So, erm, I guess that's an uncharacteristically practical "no"!

I like it! Sculptural and functional. When a roll goes missing, it just adds to the changing display - keeps things interesting.

He he..
If a couple has such a screen in their bathroom, maybe they could use it to see how in sync they are when it comes to designing...guy takes on roll out, then the girl, and then the guy...and see if they have been abe to 'design' something!

I know...totally random! ;-)

My first thought was how will it look when I have to take one out. So I agree with brilliant asylum in that the display can easily become askew. Nice look but not so practical. thanks for sharing.

oh how clever. using the graphic nature of the rolls to make a wall. I actually think it is inspired genius. on a practical level it has flaws... think of dusting this! but it makes for a great photo - even if it is a bit odd. ;)

I think it is hilarious! But, then again, I live with four men.
