Make bath time...all the time?!?!

(featured on Casasugar blog...)

It's called the Max bathtub chaise...said to be a contemporary twist on the sofa briefly featured in Breakfast at Tiffany's, available in several colors, selling for $2,940 from Reestore...

What do you think? Just for novelty or practical furniture??

Not too shabby...

for Target that is!!! It's soon time for their Global Bazaar and I was quite impressed with some of their goods...especially their prices, if you're in need of a bargain you may want to take a look...

Take this Floral Capiz Chandelier for only $49.99

Where on earth can you buy a 60"L x 45"W Dining Table for $299...

What a cute canister for only $14.99

And this Zhu-Sun Accent Table for only $79...

Can you tell I'm in the post Christmas shopping mood...

Crossing over...

from fashion design to home design, a perfect world of gray. "We wanted an escape from color when we come home from the office," says designer Monique Lhuillier of her Bel Air home...

From her Spring 2008 collection...to an 18 month home renovation...

I'm guessing well worth the wait, this reno appears almost flawless...

I love the pairing of this vintage Lucite console with the zebra print upholstered bench...

Can this be my tv room...love all the windows and don't even mind the tv above the fireplace here...

A nice lil private study, seems ideal for conducting business at home...

Another fun black and white powder room...I thought this might have been from KWID collection, but it turns out to be a Astek wallpaper...

*More images and information available at Elle Decor pointclickhome*

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Santa got me exactly what I wanted...a new powder bathroom, can't wait to show pictures :) I will be back and forth until after the New Year...hopefully I can get back into the routine of things...

A world of avant-garde...

Should I really write anything, or just let these images speak for themselves...

...but where did they come from, you might ask? While hopping from blog to blog, in just a brief time I stumbled upon foto_decadent, a community on livejournal (I thought it was a blog...but I'm just not sure what it is) which features some of the best fashion photography around...

this entry featuring the work of Bernard Tartinville spoke to me so much, I just felt compelled to spread the word...so you could enjoy the journey as I did!

These are (for lack of a better word) amazing photos ...right...or is it just me!?!?

So many options...how do you choose?

What do you put at the end of a bed...if anything?!?! If you've got the space, it's sometimes ideal to place something there...like an antique settee seen above...

Miles Redd

Or a desk even, it could be draped with fabric like above or even just a great hand-carved piece...

Maybe a comfy bench would work with some great accent pillows...

Ruthie Sommers, via Style Court Blog

Or a love seat of sorts with a coffee table to create another place to lounge in the bedroom...

Catherine, Domino Decorating Contest winner

Just a chair and side table will do too...this is probably what I will end up doing at my own home...

Todd Romano

But then I do have a mini-dachshund that would love her own lil set of steps up on to the bed...which is a great idea for small dog owners...

The options are endless, here are just a few. I'm curious, what's at your end of the bed?

You are sure to love this...

stationary I've found...that is if you're a big fan of KWID's "Imperial Trellis" print, which this so closely resembles, don't ya think?!?! This personalized memo pad is available through Traylor Papers..and now it's top on my wish list :)

For another great post on KWID's "Imperial Trellis" check out J'adore Decor's blog here...

It's quite possible...

these are the "best" chocolates ever...no really! MarieBelle chocolates are hand-painted and delicious, I'm sure it's not too late to send some out for the holidays....maybe you know someone that really likes chocolate (like me), that's been really good this year (like me)...or someone else, that's okay too! But, my p.o. box is big enough to fit a medium size box in case you were wondering " :)

Hope your holiday planning is not driving you to drink, hang in there and FYI my posts may be a little more sporadic these days...cause it's just a crazy time of year!

Last day to bid...

On what you're probably asking...benefitting the Paris Review, designer Celerie Kemble has donated a "2-hour consultation" with herself at the winner's home in New York City...a great opportunity not only for charity but for expert design advice...click here for more info on the auction...

**
The Paris Review is America’s non-profit preeminent literary quarterly, dedicated to discovering publishing the best new voices in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry."**

I'm craving...

This new lamp just in at Pieces...but it might be perfect for you and that's okay if you beat me to it...check here!

Go wild with prints...

For those of you that are familiar with Meg Braff's work...know that she has an impeccable eye for detail and is always ready to pick a wild print and run with it. I love this house and always will and was so excited to see additional photos available on House Beautiful's website.

I love blue and white and I can't get enough of it...ever!!! Anna with Absolutely Beautiful Things knows what I'm talking about, see here most recent posts on this color combo...

Details...details...details!!! I just love all the colors in this room, esp. the use of red.

More red...A pagoda room after my own heart...

A lovely vanity, I think any women would love...

Check out the link on House Beautiful's website for a great interview and additional pics that were not included in this magazine spread...

Dress up them doors of yours....

(Designed by Albert Pinto, featured in House and Garden, December '07)

I love the idea of making doors... so much more! There are so many simple tricks to dress up a pair of doors. I think our eyes are trained to simply just ignore doors in general, but what if we didn't, and we actually accentuated them or made more real use of them, rather then to open and close...here are some examples that really work. Hope you enjoy!!!

(Designed by Celerie Kemble, featured in House Beautiful, Nov. '07)

*This is the perfect seamless door...upholstered in Brunschwig & Fils' Le Zebre linen. How much do you love this?*

(featured in Blueprint, issue no. 5)

*Or rather apply an inlay of your favorite wallcovering...like David Hick's Hexagon

(Designed by Suzanne Rheinstein, featured in Domino, Oct. '07)

*Maybe upholster the whole door all together like was done in the 17th and 18th centuries...add a few nickel-silver nailheads and POUF a new door! *

*Reader Bill reminded me of this Miles Redd design...just love them doors!!!*

(Designed by Mary McDonald, featured in Domino, Jan/Feb. '06)

*And who doesn't love what Mary McDonald created with these doors in her office?!?!*

What a good idea...for your kitchen!

(Designed by Tom Bosworth, featured in Met Home, May/June '97)

If you're like me you imagine your dream kitchen being spacious and open...and a ton of natural light would be key to the design!!! I would rather cook with a nice view of the outdoors than that of Rachael Ray's show on the TV (sorry Rachael). But most people would consider the window space in a kitchen useless in terms of upper storage...but hold up, that doesn't have to be the case! Check out these examples below of where you get the best of both worlds...

(Designed by Temple St. Clair Carr, featured in Elle Decor, Sept. '06)

(Designed by Celia Tejada, featured in Elle Decor, Sept. '07)

So, good idea right?!?! Hope you think so.

The right stripe...

can be hard to find...but today I'm finding them. I think it can be fairly easy to go wrong with stripes...either in the pattern scale or simply the application. But, here are some examples of where the stripes are just so right!

(Designed by Jeffrey Bilhuber, featured in House and Garden, Oct. '05)

(Designed by Brian McCarthy, featured in Elle Decor, Dec. '07)

(Designed by Maria Noel, featured in Domino, June '06)
(Designed by Mr. Paul Siskin, featured in Interior Design mag)

This is what I've found so far, I hope to add more later today. Enjoy!!! What do you think of my findings so far?

Not too serious is the key...

Says designer Katie Ridder of her family's Upper East Side apartment. A space that I remember loving when it was featured in Elle Decor's March '06 issue...something about it said "welcome, no need to take your shoes off...and it's okay to sit on the furniture too!"

I may have to steal this idea Katie! I love that bookcase...and how it combines the flat screen so seamlessly.

Love this headboard by Charles H. Beckley...

The perfect, classic Master Bathroom...white subway tile with black accent tiles!

How cute is this room and those Niermann Weeks canopy beds!
