Mirror, Mirror...

(Designed by Brian McCarthy/Elle Decor, Dec. '07)

Scale, proportion, placement...all of these are key when fitting the right mirror in place. Seems fairly easy to do, but takes some skill to really transform a room...

(Designed by Alex Papachristidis/Elle Decor, Nov. '06)

In this instance a pair of tilted mirrors is just right for this bedroom...

(Designed by Mike Clifford/Elle Decor, Nov. '05)

Furniture in front of a mirror, like this settee here works great, but casegood pieces work as well...

(Home of Dana Slatkin/California Style Mag, Jan/Feb. '08)

Mirror over mirror, love this idea! Makes that full/tight typical bathroom mirror more special...

(Designed by Windsor Smith/Domino Mag., Aug. '07)

Another favorite, this mirror is bound to double the size of the room...

These are some tear sheets I've been collecting of room designs that emphasize the right mirror(s)...just wanted to share with you...

A pink diva...

Have you seen these yet???

(Betsey Johnson's 2008 Spring Collection)

From her runway show to her own home, Betsey's going pink and there's no stopping her...

(Image via Style Files)

What a place girl!! Pink walls, pink furniture, pink carpet...and possibly shag...but you know what Betsey, you're wild and that's why I love ya!! It doesn't matter, somehow you connected with this place makes sense of it all, am I crazy?!?!? And guess what, apparently it's for more here, from All Things Bright and Beautiful blog...

Flower power...

Poppy Bowl, Polished Aluminum

It's a floral affair...Michael Aram's new Spring collection is due out in April, and it's got me thinking "bright and shiny" during these grim rainy days!!!

Magnolia Plate, Enamel

Of this collection, Michael had to say: "I imagine myself as a small creature in a garden with these vibrant and electric blossoms towering over me..."

Poppy Bowl/LG, Enamel

Rose Petal, Enamel

A great addition to the recent "floral" trend, these hand-made pieces are exquisite and affordable too! If you're ever in Chelsea pop into Michael Aram's store, or click here to view online...

Rustic Glamour/part deux

There is something so charming about a rustic dining room, don't you think? They key is to create the right balance of elements...some designs border on the more modern side and others somewhat traditional, either way the right touch can lead to a pleasing and cozy environment...

(Amanda Peet's Home via Domino, Dec./Jan. '08)

One of my favorite homes as of late, this small dining room is packed with charm...

Very elegant, yet the architecture and small decor touches (like the way the tables drapes) offers a country rustic feel...

(via Country Living, Feb. '08)

Love this combo of the dining table and chandelier...

(via House Beautiful, Sept. '07)

A modern twist, this design with the washed wood and deep red tones feels so romantic...

(via Maisons Cote Sud, Dec./Jan. '08)

Probably just a typical day of dining in France I suppose, must be nice...

(via Western Interiors, Oct./Nov. '07)

A bit more rustic then I tend to like, but still I love the touch of lighting...

Equestrian Inspired...

Okay, I'll admit it...I'm a Bravo reality show junkie. This is partly due to the fact that my other TV show favs (The Office, I miss you come back to me) are on hold due to the writer's strike...but also they're quite addicting. Recently I caught a few episodes of Bravo's new show "Make me a Supermodel"...

Elle Decor

At first I was thinking "do we need another show about models," but then like usual I'm now watching every one. Last week's episode featured a (somewhat is the key word) "equestrian inspired" runway I thought I'd keep it going with some equine style decor, hope you enjoy!!!

and many others often feature "equestrian art" in their designs...

Here's a print I love, called "equable" from Etsy seller MollDoll (she has many great equestrian prints available.)

maybe find a painting this weekend I'm painting the insides of my closets (yes, it's loads of fun), but I saw this door on Desire to Inspire blog a while back, and thought...what a good idea! Take a rustic white door and add some color...what do you think?

It's Friday, I'm in love...

So, I just so happen to be browsing the magazine section at the local bookstore yesterday (like I do regularly, cause who needs books when you've got magazines, right?!?...just kidding!), and I came across the image above, featuring a lovely blend of "Chinoiserie" and "Grandma Chic" style, that just won my heart so much I had to share!!

The bed above is covered in several Kenzo cushions, which you can buy here...

After seeing this "Pavilions & Parasols" wallcovering in installation, I'm's available through Sanderson Co.

**Enjoy and Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend!!**

Going strong...

**Fashion is telling us that "safari chic" is still going strong into 2008, and you know what...I'm not complaining!! Although I have lost some enthusiasm for certain animal prints, I am still crushing on safari inspired prints, like this one below, which reminds me of one of the prints shown in the dresses above...**

**And how do you feel about this trend?? Still loving it or never did in the first place??**
