Even though it's fall...

(Image via Instyle Home, Spring '06)

I say let your arrangements flourish...let them be wild and crazy, with a mind of their own! There was something about these spaces here, that attracted me beyond just the furnishings. So, coming back to them after being tagged...I realize it's the floral/twig-like arrangements that they all have in common. So, I thought I share these with you as some fall inspiration...

Last weekend I went to the florist and felt mad for just buying some sticks. But they look amazing on my mantlepiece. After all, we love faux bois and twig accessories (like lamps from Porta Romano http://www.portaromana.co.uk/index.php?page=productlist&sid=2&cid=1) so shouldn't be surprised we like real branches and twigs so much!

I've done this with forsytha in the spring (you can even force it once it's budded) it so dramatic and great.

I love these type of arrangements and use "twigs" and "branches"all the time.

I can never get enough of branches inside -- berries, flowering, or leafy!

I love branchy floral arrangements - so architectural! And long-lasting! They're particularly arresting as the first thing you see in an entry hall. I wish more mom-and-pop flower shops stocked flowering branches.

Twigs are so warm and rustic for fall. I love bringing a little of the fall inside. The same goes for spring with a few dogwood branches in a vase.

The snapdragon-clad chair from Anthropologie looks right at home alongside the featured fauna and foliage. Lovely.

Happy weekend!
