Let's get "Nautical"...

yeah, I think we should, it's just a great casual look...

(Luella, Ralph Lauren and L.A.M.B., via ThriftyChick)

(and this JCrew bracelet...)

Well, it's about that time of year, when I start thinking "I'd really like to sign up for sailing lessons this summer, better get on that list"...but I probably won't even sign up, because I say that every year and haven't yet, so I'll get nautical in another way, through home decor...

start small with some nautical inspired accents, like these window shades that Suzanne Kasler designed...

and maybe get this Columbia Sailboat model instead of a life-size one, which would go great in a Study...

what about a nautical pillow from Pierre Frey"Oceane" collection...

and if I needed a doorstop, this would be the one I'd get...
I just love these Nautical Andirons from Gustavo Olivieri...

and this fun "round tire" mirror from Chapman Radcliff...

Of course another William Sonoma Home find, these rope pillows are great...

A lantern with an modern twist, this if from Ralph Lauren Home...

Iomoi has great custom lucite trays, like this "anchor navy" one here...

and reader/blogger Easy and Elegant Life mentioned her love for port holes in a comment, so I just had to add these ones from Cottage Home Maine...

Brilliant... pond yachts, striped shirts, how can you go wrong? I'm with you on wanting to learn to sail... I tend to take ground too easily.

I'm also dying to put a porthole light above my shower as my uncle (a true sailor) has done. But I don't think it'll go with the orientalism theme.

that porthole idea is great EEL, maybe it will work somewhere else :)

I love this motif for clothes, it is so hard to do it right in the home, I feel like to could look like a yuppy clothing store to easily, like Riches in the mid 90's, but I know that if you do it, it will be perfect.

I know I love those andirons too Jennifer!!

Nautical Bling, as I so fondly like to refer to i, has made an amazing comeback in both the worlds of fashion and design. I will definitely be rocking my anchor medallion, striped sailor shirt and white soled shoes this summer but in terms of my interior I am sticking with less is more.

I stocked up on some spring/summer pieces with nautical flavour when I was in Miami and it was so hard to not buy everything in sight and go "overboard"

I especially loved Juicy's sailor-themed collection
