Happy Fur Day

(Dottie, our mini-dachshund)

Pets...what can you say. We love them, even though they chew on everything, roll around in the yard and then come in smelling like a litter box, decide when company's over is the perfect time to show off their strangest behavior....despite all of this you just can't stay mad for long. So today I thought I'd pay a tribute to our furry family members with pet portraits that really make a room!

(A portrait of Liberace in owner's Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler's home, from Rooms to Inspire book)

(Portrait by Martha Szabo, featured in Domino/Oct. 2005)

(Check out the Oct. 2005 issue of Domino for more pet portrait artists)

(Portrait of Louie in owner's Kristen and Allan Kirshner's home, designed by Doug Meyer, featured in Metropolitan Home, May 2006)

**Have a good weekend!!!**

Ditto blushing apples!! Very original post. I'm kind of drawn to the Adler image with that green console :)

After being away from our pup for 10 days, we couldn't wait to return home to her! Thanks for the great post!

Too cute! Aw, chat! this is making me miss my puppies back at home. Shame! I love this. I want a portrait painted of my little ones!!!

Hope you had a great weekend. Always the last to post.

Sometimes I don't understand why we slipcover the couches... isn't it just easier to slipcover the dogs? :)

I am reading all these comments as Rickey the pug sleeps next to me. I curse the continuous shedding that results in me having to sweep the wood floors daily. But he's totally worth it.

Your are so right Decorno...I wish they made slipcovers I actually like, that's probably why I got a short hair...but mine has white fur so when she sheds on all my black clothes I just want to kick her out...but I don't cause I love her lots :) Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!
