Dark kitchens...Bright idea!

Maybe it's just me, but I am often drawn to white kitchens, and only white kitchens. But I'm feeling different these days, and I say...let's paint our whtie cabinets black and toss that White Carrara stone for some lovely shiny black stone! It's sophisticated, but still very inviting! The image of Kelly Werstler and this "oh so glamorous" black kitchen has inspired me to break out of my comfort zone and explore the dark side...

I am swooning over that Fearon Hayes kitchen and really wondering how I might achieve that. Do you know what that white countertop is? And how do you think that black cabinetry is achieved?

Hi Maryam! I'm hoping to have some lovely bathroom inspiration for you tomorrow :) That counter top looks like a Ceaserstone to me...it has mittered edges to make it appear like a big slab of stone. Easy to obtain with the right fabricator. As for cabinetry, it very well may be a wenge/ebony finish, enamel paint, or a high quality laminate (not to sure). Hope this helps and thanks for the comment!

I love this post . and I love these black kitchens but I'm going to be lucid and to say that Black kitchen is the enemy of clean kitchen ..

Great post, I totally agree, dark kitchens are so exotic, look cleaner and just make you think the food you make there is better, don't know how it happens, but it just feels sleeker.
