Should I really write anything, or just let these images speak for themselves...
...but where did they come from, you might ask? While hopping from blog to blog, in just a brief time I stumbled upon foto_decadent, a community on livejournal (I thought it was a blog...but I'm just not sure what it is) which features some of the best fashion photography around...
this entry featuring the work of Bernard Tartinville spoke to me so much, I just felt compelled to spread the word...so you could enjoy the journey as I did!
These are (for lack of a better word) amazing photos ...right...or is it just me!?!?

It's not just you - they are amazingly beautiful!
They speak of a louche, en déshabillé decadence that Helmut Newton smashed you in the face with: very much the idea of behind hidden doors at Versailles and being "mussed" and having to put herself back together without the aid of a maid, while she trails through hidden halls...or do ya think I'm reading too much into it? ;)
Incredible. They look like something I might frame and put up in my bedroom.
they are so so gorgeous !
They are absolutely stunning - thank you so much for posting them!

Oh Joni, that movie was something else...beautiful to watch, although at times rather slow, but that didn't matter to me cause I loved it!

They're gorgeous - what a great find! Evocative of a French renaissance portraits.
stunning, SO beautiful. happy holidays!
It's not just you - its me too - wow! I love he modern-period twist
Great photos for sure... look so much like those 16th century portraits it's almost creepy! The only thing that could tell them apart from the original paintings is... the lack of "meat" on the ladies... how skinny they are!!!
I know anon...you're right, they're skin and bones almost!
~Kate
captivating but somewhat creeps me out too- especially the way she holds her hand in the second or third one
