My subscription addiction.

Well, what can I say...my other half dreads every year, when I have to renew my many magazine subscriptions. I can understand where he's coming from, but I just don't care enough to seek help.

So, last weekend I was visiting with some friends (both of whom are landscape architects)...and I came across this magazine Garden Design in their mail pile (it was on top, I swear). I knew at that point I wasn't leaving their house with out it. After a few glasses of wine, food, more wine...I convinced them to let me permanently barrow it! SO, sorry to say honey...we will have one more magazine subscription coming to our home :)

I'm so impressed with this publication...it covers everything! Above is an image of a royal purple sage flower, native to Mexico.

It features some of the most beautiful landscaping and design, like this hillside home in central Texas (designed by Selena Souders and Dylan Robertson).

Who knew ferns looked so great! Here is a feature on a variety of ferns and how they can be used as centerpieces.

For those urban folks...dress up your terrace!! Here is a highlight from exterior designer Julie Milligan and her lovely outdoor room.

OH oh, I may have to subscribe to that one TOO, I also have so many magazines coming to the house that my boyfriend is scared that they wont be able to fit real mail in there...irrational man. But I just never have enough fresh eye candy in the mail every day.

I should add that I too just keep signing up for magazines. I'm truly behind reading them, but as soon as our WSJ subscription runs out I ought to be able to squirrel away a bit more free time for enjoying my style mags. Glad to know I'm not alone in my addiction!

Kate,
How sweet of you. I've been on vacation so I didn't check your blog until today. You're so nice to mention gardenrooms. Thank you.

Great post and nice pics of gardens today by you!
p.s. I love magazines too, I actually get really excited when I go to the foreign mag store at the beginning of the month.

What beautiful pictures. I love all of them and anything to do with the outdoors and gardens. Just wish I had more time to garden and nicer weather here in Vancouver to live outdoors all year round.
