Feeling blue...and red!

I think blue is one of the easiest colors to work with, I mean it pretty much goes with everything...but one of my all time favorite combos is pairing this color with red! One minute it's super sophisticated the next is simple and sweet. Here are some examples I found of these colors, that I thought I'd share with you...

(House Beautiful/ July '08)

How bout this combo of a cobalt blue dresser and the red painting above...

(Domino/April '08)

If only this was my office and Ruthie Sommers was my designer, love the pale blue walls and the red armoire!

(via amadteaparty blog)

Layering these colors in a tablescape can be fun too; in books, boxes, art, etc...

(Domino)

Adding other colors to the mix even works, but really they make a great pair on their own!

(California Home + Design/April '08)

Combine them together in a case piece like here, this combo sold me the moment I saw it...

(Living Etc./July '08)

For simple beauty -- red flowers against a blue way, so sweet!

(Domino/May '08)

You could even build a whole room around these colors, and it works cause I just love this little girls room!

I love red as an accent colour. Great selections here to show it :) Gives a room a little surprise or a little pop.

I've been really wanting some blue lately.

But I do love that red little girls bedroom!! I'm always drawn to red.

Thanks for visiting, long time no see! I've been really out of the loop this summer. It is good to start catching up with everyone.

Happy day,
Melissa

Interestingly, blue would be the one color I couln't possibly add to my home. We've got a gold/russet/sienna color blend with occasional pops of salmon pink. But blue would be impossible to mix in.

Love the idea of an icy blue bedroom though... so cool and relaxing.

The shoes in the apothecary glass are my favorite!

I like the fifth and the seventh pics most. The fifth gives me the feeling of antique bar fulling of artistci style.

Hi, I checked your blog and like it very much.

I like the table lamp in the second picture, I am manufacturing an urn in that style.
